Stocking Shelves with Love: Supporting Birthright of Woodbridge
At Sort Toss Repeat, we believe that getting organized goes beyond beautifully labeled bins and streamlined spaces—it’s about creating systems that support families where they need it most. Last week, I had the opportunity to tour Birthright of Woodbridge's storage and donation rooms to meet with their Executive Director.
Since I learned about Birthright last year, I’ve been taking all client donations of gently used baby clothes there, and I’ve not gone beyond the lobby area. What I saw there truly moved me. Inside their modest, very organized, and thoughtfully run center are shelves that represent hope, dignity, and new beginnings.
Birthright is a pregnancy support center that provides free, confidential help to women and families in the community who are navigating unexpected or challenging pregnancies. Every single person who works there is a volunteer. The center runs entirely on donations and the generosity of people who care.
And right now, they need our help by stocking up their shelves with newborn essentials for their monthly baby showers.
Empty Shelves, Big Hearts
During my visit, I saw nearly empty shelves meant to hold essentials for newborns and babies. These items are given directly to families who are welcoming a new baby, often during a time when resources are stretched thin. Every month, Birthright of Woobdbridge hosts a baby shower for up to 10 moms where they receive a layette with new baby product essentials.
Here’s what Birthright of Woodbridge is urgently in need of:
These simple items make a significant difference. They help pregnant women in need feel supported, prepared, and cared for as their new babies get a strong, loving start in this world.
How You Can Help
We are inviting our Sort Toss Repeat community to come together and help stock the shelves at Birthright of Woodbridge.
To make it easy, Birthright has created an Amazon Wish List where you can send items directly to them. Every purchase goes straight to families who need it most.
Whether you donate one pack of diapers or a few outfits, every single contribution makes a difference in a family in need. Monetary donations are also welcome, as it helps to buy the baby items they are running low on.
Why This Matters to Us
As a professional organizer, I spend my days helping families create calm, functional homes—but some families are simply trying to meet their most basic needs. Partnering with Birthright of Woodbridge is our way of using the Sort Toss Repeat community to give back in a meaningful way.
Let’s show them what a generous, compassionate community can do.
Thank you for helping turn empty shelves into hope-filled ones.
Until next time,
